USMNT Head Coach Search: Gregg Berhalter Still a Top Contender

The former coach is among the top candidates.

Just a few hours ago, Gregg Berhalter was Club América's main option to try and lead them in Liga MX. That's all since fallen apart because he, once again, thinks he can take charge of the United States National Team project ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

According to several Mexican and American journalists, Berhalter said no to Club America because he wants to return to the USMNT to finish what he started in Qatar.

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Berhalther stemming from that World Cup, involving Gio Reyna and his family. US Soccer didn't find enough wrong-doing however to put Berhalter out of contention for being head coach again though.
