USA look to get back on Track against an underrated Canada

Updated: Sep 7, 2021

Sunday- Sep 5 - 8:00PM Eastern

Nashville, TN

The US return home after failing to convert against El Salvador. This road draw again reinforces that the US attack relies very heavily on Pulisic. Returning from a case of COVID it is still an unknown if he will feature against Canada.

The US have a young team with a great upside if they can start scoring. Until the goals come this team is reminiscent of a failure to qualify in the last world cup.

In preparation for a Canadian team which has been on the rise in the FIFA World rankings we will see if the US can get an all important 3 points to get a jump start on the qualification process.

Canada's most notable player. Alfonso Davies brings a lot to the table. The Bayern Munich star has shown his versatility as a winger/left back hybrid which fits Canada's dynamic 3-5-2. Davies is already ahead of the rest of the CONCACAF players with a large list of notable hardware he has brought home at Bayern.

Canada look to be able to frustrate a currently stale US attack and have the speed and versatility to put challenges on the US backline.

One thought on the US taking only 1 point against El Salvador is the playing conditions there are not what the US National players are accustomed to, many US high schools facilities have more to offer then the bumpy El Salvador home pitch. Returning home to their base camp out of Nashville, the US must show they can bring in the points when the excuses aren't there.
