Suarez, Gerrard Reunion In The Works

Looks life Stevie G is having a Liverpool reunion at Aston Villa.

Luis Suarez is reportedly 'focused' on a reunion with Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa after rejecting multiple offers from elsewhere.

Suarez played alongside Gerrard for nearly 4 years at Liverpool. And the Uruguay international is said to be attracted to work under the former England captain at Villa Park.

Gerrard has already brought one of his former Liverpool team-mates to Villa.

Philippe Coutinho joined from Barcelona on loan for the remainder of the season, making an immediate impact, scoring off the bench on his debut to seal a 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United on Saturday.

But the Brazilian could soon be joined by his ex-Liverpool and Barca team-mate Suarez.

According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Gerrard is trying to bring Suarez on board, appealing to him as a friend.

The 34-year-old's current contract with Atletico Madrid expires at the end of the season which would allow him to leave on a free transfer.

Suarez, who played a key role in Atletico’s La Liga title success last season, has scored nine goals in 27 appearances this season but has failed to find the net in his last 10 games.

Despite his drought, Diego Simeone says Suarez remains a key part of his side, saying: "We have spoken with Luis for two months about what I think of him, of how important he is for us and the situations that we create for him and without him on the pitch."
