Club admin thinks long and hard about transfer announcement
Newcastle United have announced that they’ve got wood, much to everyone’s amusement.
No, not that.
They’re talking about the signing of striker Chris Wood from Burnley, whose transfer to St James’ Park was made official on Wednesday.
Still, it’s impossible not to laugh at Newcastle’s announcement, which is probably a deliberate joke by their admin.
Wood will wear the number 20 shirt and joins Kieran Trippier as Newcastle's signings in January. Newcastle fans may have expected more exciting new players... where's Mbappe... Messi? But Eddie Howe will no doubt use his new players to improve the team’s chances of escaping relegation.
