Former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch is the “clear frontrunner” for the USMNT head coach position according to reports.

Marsch has been out of work since being sacked by Leeds in February following a disappointing second season with the Elland Road side.

According to Men in Red reporter Alex Calabrese, the American is very close to reaching an agreement to take over the country’s national team and is due to take the reins after the CONCACAF Gold Cup set to take place this summer.

Marsch was Bob Bradley’s assistant during his spell as head coach of the US National team between 2010 and 2011 before taking up the hot seat at MLS side Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls, where he won the MLS Supporters’ Shield twice and MLS Coach of the Year award in 2015.
